Custom Built Homes
Custom homes are designed for a specific location, the topography of the lot, view lines and with many other factors in mind. If you like having the ability to make broad choices from a variety of options, living where you want on land you have dreamed about for years, then building a custom home is for you. You choose the lot, the size of the home, the floor plan, the number of bedrooms and baths and any custom features you want to include to suit your family’s needs and lifestyle. You will have ideas about where to situate your home on the lot, highlighting natural landscape features, and incorporating design elements handcrafted out of wood and stone. Building a home can and should be a rewarding and positive experience. The good news is, you don’t have to know everything.
Your Dream Home
Many of our clients have a vision of their dream home that includes the land their home will rest on, as well as ideas about the design and construction of their ideal home. Selecting a favourite piece of land and then designing and building a home influenced by the unique topography and views of the lot is an exciting experience.

Consult A Builder During the Custom Home Design Process
Dakota Ridge Builders has considerable local knowledge and strong build-on-your-lot expertise. It’s wise to consult with a builder who is skilled in conducting a careful assessment of the feasibility and cost to build on a parcel of land; ideally, before you purchase that land. Inviting your builder to become part of your land search process is a sensible call.
We can help you avoid more difficult lots and save you money — both on the purchase price of the property and by helping you better understand, in advance, the cost to turn land into a buildable lot. By doing this work in advance, we can provide you with valuable insight and advice. Many times we find few issues to resolve with a prospective lot. For clients who already own land, we also conduct site evaluations to review the positioning of your home on the lot, inventory trees that can be retained, discuss utilities available and overall site development potential.
